Slow and Steady

I am a bit further back on the updates of what is going on now. Gabriel is coming, Photography Workshop is on going every month (esp. for WK staff only, for the people who have left the company... Sorry guys!). So Hurray!

I need time to sit back and relax and plan the things I have done on all Workshop. A few suggestion that i have received like:-

Giving a FREE Portrait shoots for Aghatians Shelter Kids (i know sometimes it doesn't look worth it).

Photography Exhibition Charity for Aghatians Shelter Kids (i need to think about the place to held the Exhibition. Maybe end of year!? I'll promise on this but again actual date is so far for me to "reach")

Selected Photos from the All the Workshop will be immortalise in Photo Book (PhotoBook Malaysia is seems to be the best place... hmmmm).

The WKesp Photography Club can do something extraordinary out from working "circle" (i know this going to be Hard on what to achieve, but again I know there is "something planned" for us "Outside", I'm always ready for this! & I'm going to make everyone in the Club ready for "it")

and i'm a Daddy! 2009 is a very Good Year! everything that i have been planning for a long time is going to come true, but again there maybe a few hiccups now and then... but again i will be give full support on the Photography Club.

... There was I, jumping like a little kid; jump on the puddle.

"Where have you been?" said Sally, now with angry tone. I was expecting her to felt sorry for me; everything is wet, COME ON! where is the feeling of compassion?

I just let my self in the cab and make my self comfortable, If I were in my dad car in this situation, he would just leave me and force me to walk back home.

Sally still standing outside, come on what's she's thinking? it's raining! What she want me to do?, I just grab her left hand and force her inside. There is a little bit of pulling going on, and at the end she finally dragging herself inside.

"Where to?" said the cab driver. "NO WHERE!" said Sally furiously. The driver surprise, I was stoked. Immediately I replied, "to Grand Central please, ... make it a jiffy please". I can see the driver face turns red, I heard he's mumbling something, but not sure what. I was asking myself, what in the world happens to this girl? There is silence on the way to Grand Central between me and Sally.

It was a long queue of traffic heading to Grand Central. This isn't a usual thing, normally it is just a smooth drive. Now and then I can hear the Cab Radio transmission flicked off and on, I slide down the window and put my head out, in the distance I can only see blurry image, Ooh I forgot to bring my glasses. There is something going on right in front, but I'm not really sure. "Sir, any idea what is happening?".....

...By the time i reached the keys, someone bangs at the door and quite obvious not a normal knocks. I turn around and see shadows from the crack of the door, definitely i was not expecting any visitor at this moment; looked at the watch, almost 3.00 am.

[Last few hours..]

I was never to excited when it comes to fine dining, as well go for a luxurious trip. Sally, she was so excited about this. Well i don't care much as I'm not the one whom holding the bill, couldn't care less.

It was about 10.50pm when i went out from the house and went straight to Elm Street, 3 blocks from my place. "Let's make it sharp at 11.00pm" said Sally. And i know she's be probably waiting for me now. I was running with my suit on, and it's raining cats and dogs. There is two things in my mind now, am i able to make it? how about the suit? I'm pretty sure I'll be wet all over by the time i reached there.

"Where have you been?" said Sally. I can hear clearly the words comes out from her mouth, but i just ignored her. I was busy wiping my suit and the same time thinking is the suit worth for the night...

News on Dog himself:

in July this year, the Dog and another 29 graffiti artist will be spraying, stroking, splashing.. etc whatever you call that, hand in hand to create the biggest graffiti for Malaysian Books Of Records in Langkawi.

Sekawan Haiwan Exhibition: How to react with the animals; Love them. Another upcoming Exhibition for the Donald, Jojo and Jaja = DOG + PIG + CAT = Sekawan Haiwan.

The Dog Collab. with Nike product. DOG + NIKE = DOGNIKE.. right!!?!?

Need to confirm on few things on this, so stay tune.

There is a plan(not confirm yet) that the Dog and Jojo will be flying to YOGYAKARTA or JOGJA (Artist Land in Indonesia) and be staying there for a couple of months?? years??. for the purpose???? let's just see when they get back.

37: DIY HOLGA (using 35mm film) w/o using sponge.

What we need:

1. A Box of tissue

2. Black elastic tape
3. Scissors

Just do as similar method using sponge to hold the film catridge(on the left side), the only thing is that now we're going to use tissue.
Fit it in, and just make sure it is align(straight/in the middle)
Tada!! now you have it!!

If you have extra tissue, just fit it in your nose (should solve the "major issue"). :P

I just manage to "dig" out all my old drawings... where so called "artistan" is still inside me, but maybe need to have some "warming-up" before i can produce one this time around, hands already "keras".. hahah
But anyway, before (never in a 100 years, any of my drawings hanged in gallery) i get "famous" lah. Well you never know... :P

I'm going to tell you a little bit about this drawing, as you know i love skateboarding, and been in the Labuan Skateboarding Scene nearly 10 years. This give me some idea... to capture on film and also on the paper. That's mean Copying the image from the photo.. the transfer it on the paper. Looks easy... but. I could do one drawing in 3 - 4 days, copy and transfer the image.

This drawing is in black and white, and the best part is... the photo taken using a zoom lense... so you can see some part is blurred(not sharp), Depth of Field = D.O.F. ROCKS!! :P
and the focus is only on the skater. I did a lot of smudging tech.

Steps:

1. Do all the dark area
2. Do the grey part (need to mix black and white together)
3. Smudging
4. Then the detail. (Lighting area, sharp white on the upper skater body).

I never went to any art class/school, except then Vocational school where i learn to do dimension drawing... well what i'm actually good at.

It's been 3 Months that i haven't skate, ohhyaa.. it's because i've sold my Board to Max( Labuan Skater). And it is not like the last time, i would skate everyday... my hands and legs would shiver if there's "no DOS for the day" i would go out as early as 4.00pm till 11.00pm(and on saturday i can even start skating as early as 11.00am).. WHY??? well i guess Labuan is too boring for other activities.. Clubbing? Cheap BEER?. I would rather having cheap BEER and go street skating.. and mind the Cops(they just doing their job).

Back at the old days we always have this monthly trip thingy.. Skate TOUR. 3 to 5 Skater would be enough, more then 5 it would be a headache i tell you. There were we planning for a 1 night trip to KK(well with no extra clothing allowed just as it is, and also no extra boxer :P ) True skater don't care so much about Boxer, Shirt, Pants..etc, they just need a place to skate, and with small amount of money( and yeahh a place to stay for the night, no place to stay? come on!!.. can even sleep at Dataran Merdeka what.. if the cops come and kacau.. tell them doing some Experimenting on the STARs). and they would move on with their life...

This post should be at the first actually, but that time i wasn't into this blog thingy.. well what can i say "the best always comes at the last part" .. and yeah i don't mean this going to be my last... hehhehe more to come lahh..

The Seagull is now R.I.P, going to miss this very china made camera, love the wideness of the lense.. enough for a "starter" like me. :P

Camera Specs:
· Quartz-control LED, horizontal travel cloth focal-plane shutter.
· Aperture-priority, automatic "AUTO") and match-LED/full-metered manual("M")
· Acute matte focusing screen with central split-image spot surrounded by microprism band
· TTL center weighted average metering
· ISO 12-3200 set by film-speed dial that locks at 1/3 EV increments. Total 25 divisions
· AE lock, switch operated
· Stepless speeds 4-1/1000 sec. Set automatically or fixed speeds 1-1/1000 sec and "B" (BUIB) set manually.
· Electronic self-timer for 10 sec delay. With operation indicated by LED blinking.
· "X" sync at 1/60 sec. Or lower.
· Power: two 1.5V(LR44),or 1.55V(SR44) battery.
· The LED indications of 10 functions
· The indication of aperture number in the viewfinder
· Multi exposure I didn't know got this one ... chiss

Yeahh!!! another Lomowall to be created for this year... not sure where is the venue for the exhibition, 26 Nov?? going to miss the opening then.. I'll only be back from KK on the 28 Nov.

Can check the last years Pic and happening from one of the featured Lomographer... let me present you Dominic call him "Dom" for short :D

Rules of the S.K.A.T.E Game:
The Game of SKATE is based on the basketball Game of HORSE. Here's how to play:

The first skater tries a trick, makes it, and everyone else has to make it. Whoever doesn't make it gets a letter. The first letter is "S," the second letter is "K", and so on, until "S-K-A-T-E" is spelled out, and that person is out of the game. When it's the first skater's turn again, he tries another trick. If he makes it, the whole process repeats.

If the first person misses the trick he tries, the second player tries his own trick. If he makes it, everyone else has to make that trick, in order. If anyone misses, they get a letter, and so on.

Rules for FINAL Game of SKATE Tournament only:
Call your shot. Name the trick you're going to do, sort of like a game of pool.

Once the board leaves it wheels, it must land on all four wheels. No rail landings, manual landings, caspers, or 50-50s. No hands on board. No hands on the ground, before or after trick.

On offense (when it's your trick) the trick must be landed completely clean. No toe-drag, the skater must be moving, with both feet solid on the board. Basically, the skater must ride away cleanly.

On defense (when doing the other guy's trick) there is leeway for landings. This will be up to the skaters and the scorekeepers, but it is truly objective: either the trick was landed properly or not.

éS Game of SKATE will be a tournament-style head-to-head contest. Skaters are randomly seeded into tournament brackets for two-man Games of SKATE. The tournament will be single elimination, so you keep advancing in each round until you lose one game and then you're out.
